How can I get a large video file to an editor in another city?
I have a one hour video that I’m capturing into an avi file (I use Adobe Premiere and the footage is on a MiniDV tape) so it will be about 13 GB in size and my editor is in another city, so I’m wondering what the best way is to get the footage to him. I imagine there’d be a way to capture the footage in a more compressed format, but I don’t want to lower the quality at all. I’m thinking my only option will be to upload to my web hosting and then have him download it, but I’m assuming that would take quite a few hours with that size of file. Any suggestions?
You can zip the file before uploading to your website so it will take less time to upload and download. To zip a file right click on it then choose send too -> compressed zip folder.
