hosting billing systems
Web hosting with a recurring billing system included?

I’m getting ready to start a new online business and I’m looking for the right web hosting service to go with for my site.

The main product I’ll be selling on the site is subscription-based, which means that I’ll need a shopping cart that supports recurring billing.

How do I make this happen? Is there a web hosting service that includes this feature, or do I have to purchase some kind of add-on deal? And how much more is it likely to cost me than a regular shopping cart?

Thanks for your help!

Normally recurring billing is not relate to hosting, you can use paypal to change your customers, and you can let your customers to subscribe your recurring billing if they want to.

You can use any hosting you want, and recurring billing is another thing.

For hosting, I recommend 111hosting, they have a reliable clustered failover server, and cheap price from $1/month, using coupon code:200720 you will get 20% off for all plans.

Good luck!!

Kate Gosselin Co-Hosts the view now?

Is she permanently there or was she only there for a little while?

Why is she on the show anyway? Money?

While Elizabeth is on leave, they are having different people co-host for 2 days each. She is not permanent.

photo hosting sites
can you be a professional photographer hosting you images on photo sites?

Maybe not Flickr or Picasa, but say using Zenfolio or Smugmug, can you still have a professional feel to visitors? Would a potential client take you seriously as a professional using a photo hosting service?

I have had my own website for a while now, but recently ran into some issues, and became so frustrated fixing it all that I’m considering dropping the website and just using a photo hosting site. I would still most likely have a front page with links to the gallery or contact, but will have the photos hosted elsewhere.

If you have examples integrating a photo hosting site with your website, please share them :)

Professional photographers have Flickr accounts and Picasa accounts, and Deviant art accounts. And also accounts with the places you mentioned. It doesn’t make you less professional it opens up more potential for you and gets the word out.

Professional photo hosting sites! – hosting services.

web hosting rails

web hosting rails
Learn Ruby on Rails or Python?

I have some experience with C, and am looking to learn a language that can do some web based stuff. I’ve done a bit of Perl, but don’t really want to learn it. PHP is there also, but again, seems like it may be a bit outdated(?)

I’ve heard a lot about Ruby on Rails, but from the description on their website it seems to mainly be used for database driven sites.

Python is also popular and seems to be learnable (for my level of experience).

My web host supports both, so I’m mostly just looking for a direction on which would be more useful to learn. The projects I would like to use it for would not be strictly database driven things (which as mentioned seem to be Ruby’s specialty), just general web things like um for example a simple calculator or form processor or things like that. Any suggestions, and if so, why? Thank you!

This is up to your preference. Take a look at the Ruby and Python languages and see which suits you better.

Rails is the de facto web framework for Ruby. Python has its own frameworks like Django, Turbogears, and so on.

> PHP is there also, but again, seems like it may be a bit outdated

PHP isn’t outdated, but many people don’t like the language (there are reasons).

> [Ruby] it seems to mainly be used for database driven sites.

You don’t need a database. But if you’re going to use Rails, you probably have a complex, dynamic website, which would be database powered (pretty much all serious websites). But you can easily write non database powered apps. In the MVC paradigm, you won’t have a model, just a view and controller.

Again, this sort of question will get you fans on either side. You need to find out what suits you best.
